UH Rainbow Injury Prevention Center hosts car seat checks during National Child Passenger Safety Weekend. The events were covered in the Beachwood Patch, Cleveland Heights Patch, Mayfield Patch and Shaker Heights Patch. Jennifer Walker also talks to Fox 8 and WKYC at the event at Legacy Village.

Car Seat Recycling Program

UH Rainbow Injury Prevention Center launches Ohio’s first car seat recycling program. The kick off at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo was covered by Fox 8, 19 Action News and WTAM.

Mentor Fire Department was covered by Plain Dealer and News Herald for being one of the drop off locations for the car seat recycling program.

The Plain Dealer talks about the car seat recycling program and the donation of the qualifying used seats to needy families.


Safe Kids Greater Cleveland

Safe Kids Greater Cleveland partnered with the Cleveland EMS to host Safe Sitter classes at Cleveland Recreation Centers.

Other Safe Kids topics covered this year include getting ready for baby, hyperthermia, Teddy Bear Day, school safety tips, water safety and pedestrian safety.


Cuyahoga County Safe Communities

The Safe Communities team went to Berea High School to work with the students on distractions when driving. The Sun News covered the “Science of Attention” program.

The Cuyahoga County DUI Task Force kicked off the 2013 Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign at Barley House with many activities to remind Clevelanders to find a sober ride home. The Plain Dealer and WKYC covered this event.
