Ford Motor Company Safety Tour
May 6th, 2010.Ford Motor Company, in collaboration with the Greater Cleveland Safe Kids/Safe Communities Coalition and the Rainbow Injury Prevention Center at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital, is coming to Cleveland May 10 to demonstrate the future of auto safety, which Ford is pioneering in affordable vehicles today. Ford will showcase the innovations it is rapidly bringing to market to help protect people in crashes and other technologies the company is implementing in its vehicles to help drivers avoid potential dangers.
The outdoor event, which will be held in Lakeside Gardens at UH Case Medical Center, will kick off at 11 a.m. with a press conference featuring Edward Barksdale Jr., MD, Division Chief, Pediatric General Surgery, and Medical Director, Pediatric Trauma. Live demonstrations of Ford safety features will be conducted until the event concludes at 3 p.m.
Participants will have the opportunity to see firsthand how Ford is using smart sensors, including radar, camera and wireless technologies, to develop new crash avoidance and driver assist systems that detect and help drivers recognize and respond to collision risks more quickly.
Featured safety technologies include MyKey™; SYNC®: Traffic, Directions & Information; BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System); Active Park Assist; Integrated Blind Spot Mirrors; and Cross Traffic Alert.
The event also offers a sneak peek at the next-generation, yet-to-be-revealed Ford Explorer, which goes into production later in 2010, and includes the world’s first inflatable seat belts for rear passengers and a next-generation radar-enabled collision warning system.
Please join us Monday May 10, 2010 to experience Ford’s innovative crash avoidance and protection technologies.
