The weather is finally warming up in Cleveland! The summer is one of the most exciting times of the year for families, but it’s also a time when kids can be at risk for injuries. During the summer, Safe Kids Greater Cleveland wants to remind parents and caregivers to be keep kids safe at home and around water during these fun months. To help organizations do so, we have provided social media posts for summer safety and water safety, a water safety press release template, infographics and handouts. Click It or Ticket

The annual Click It Or Ticket campaign started on Monday and this year the Cuyahoga County Safe Communities Coalition and participating police departments have a unique way to get out their buckle up message – painted rocks.  Building on the rock painting and hiding phenomenon, the Cuyahoga County Safe Communities Coalition partnered with Brook Park Police Department and Ford Intermediate to come up with this creative and engaging way to spread an important safety message.

The students at Ford Intermediate have been hard at work painting hundreds of rocks and personalizing each of them with a seat belt message.  Police departments throughout the county received decorated rocks to be hidden throughout their communities with a goal of residents finding them, sharing the message on social media, and rehiding for someone else to find and do the same.  Those who find the rocks are encouraged to post their findings on the Cuyahoga County Safe Communities Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/CuyahogaCountySafeCommunities.  The objective is simple:  find a rock, share your find on social media, and rehide the rock to do your part to spread the buckle up message.  If you are interested in getting rocks to hide in your community (or getting more rocks), contact Rachel Farinelli at 216-983-1107 or Rachel.Farinelli@UHhospitals.org.

To continue to spread the Click It or Ticket messages with social media posts and inforgraphics, please check them out here.
