Parade the Circle is an annual cultural event in University Circle that draws nearly 50,000 spectators to view the parade and take part in a range of activities in the Circle Village area. The Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital Injury Prevention Center sponsored a booth highlighting child passenger safety with a “Boost Your Booty” display that helped children and their parents understand how and why booster seats protect kids who have outgrown car seats but are too small for seat belts alone. Children also had a chance to show their creativity by using fabric markers to decorate t-shirts. Younger, smaller kids received a shirt with a car seat/booster seat message, while older children received a shirt with a seat belt message. Our thanks to Kohl’s, sponsors of the Safe Rides for All Kids program, and to the volunteers from Rainbow and Kohl’s who generously gave up their time on a beautiful Saturday to staff the booth.
