Bicycle Safety

Nationwide, 160 children under the age of 16 died from bicycle-related crashes in 2002.  Many times, children suffer head injuries that could have been prevented or made less severe if they had been wearing bicycle helmets.  Bicycle helmet usage rates are low in all parts of Cuyahoga County and the Rainbow Injury Prevention Center is working hard to improve rates through public education and advocacy.
