Fire and Burn Safety

More than 40 percent of residential fire-related deaths among children ages 9 and under occur when the child is attempting to escape, unable to act or acting irrationally. There are many things families can do to greatly reduce their chances of dying or being injured in a fire, such as creating and practicing an escape plan, installing smoke alarms, and being careful with matches and cigarettes.

Fire Prevention Week

Learn how to get your community involved in National Fire Prevention Week. The week in early October is designed to inform adults and children of measures they can take to prevent injuries or deaths due to fire.
